Mission Congregations

New church starts in the ELCA are often referred to as “mission congregations.” These ministries are in the start-up phase of their development, leading up to their eventual organization as congregations of the North Carolina Synod of the ELCA. We currently have six mission congregations in the North Carolina Synod.

The German Church, Charlotte
This ministry to the German speaking population of Charlotte has been meeting at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1001 Queens Rd, Charlotte, NC 28207, for several years. Pastor Enrico Leicht, pastor.leicht@googlemail.com, who moved with his wife from Germany, is moving this ministry forward
