Campus Ministry Committee

In North Carolina, we have four campus pastors and over 20 covenant congregations involved in this important ministry. Connect your NC college student to their local campus ministry contact.

 

Congregational Ministry Team

This visioning group looks for ways to meet the ministry needs of congregations across the NC Synod. The following task groups work under the support of this team:

Ecumenical Affairs Committee

This committee assists congregations and rostered leaders to live out the visible unity of Christ's whole Church in order that all the world may believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Fall Convocation Task Group

This group plans the synod's Fall Convocation, held annually at Lutheridge in mid to late September. Fall Convocation is a continuing education event for all full-time and part-time professional leaders and pastors in the NC Synod. Check the synod calendar for more information.

Historical Works Committee

This committee assists the synod in preserving and utilizing its heritage as it carries out its mission to walk together, sharing Christ. Several publications are available in print and online. Our web site also features a searchable history of pastors.

 

Lifelong Learning Grants Task Group

This task group makes synod funds available to assist rostered leaders in lifelong learning through continuing education. Click here for guidelines and application in an online form. Or, there is a PDF version.

Ministries in Chaplaincy, Pastoral Counseling and Clinical Education (MCPCCE) Committee

This committee provides support and accountability as well as guidance for the process for ecclesiastical endorsement for ELCA rostered leaders in ministries of chaplaincy, pastoral counseling and clinical education. Its work is focused around an annual retreat for leaders in MCPCCE in early spring. Contact David Franzen, committee chair, or Claude Deal, consultant.

 

Multicultural Ministries Committee

The purpose of this committee is to promote inclusiveness and diversity within congregations, synodical committees, agencies, organizations, and institutions through educational and action programs. This committee also focuses on the synod's African Descent Outreach Strategy and the synod's Latino Strategy. Explore more.
